Transiting the Suez Canal and Limassol, Cyprus

I woke up to this sight when I opened my drapes.........you can see the shadow of the ship.

We had entered the Suez Canal during the night and our transit took about 12 hours.  The Mediterranean is the same height as the Red Sea so there are no locks.  It is not very wide except in a few passing areas and is lined by a few villages but mostly sand.

After passing through the Suez we sailed for Limassol, Cyprus.  Carolyn and I decided to save our strength for tomorrow's big day so took the shuttle into town for a little shopping.....

It is not a tourist town but we manged to leave some euros behind!

Tomorrow is Jerusalem and Bethlehem!!!!!
