We spent one day there and went up into the mountains to see the two crater lakes, one blue and one green, that are side by side near the small village of Sete Ciadades.
It was a beautiful stop enroute to Lisbon but the best part was Dad got an "all clear" from the infirmary to continue on the cruise until we reached the next port. One port at a time was our motto (and we were getting closer to major international airports in case of emergency which made me feel a lot better!)
